Who are we?

The Denshaw Whit Friday Band Contest Committee takes the issue of security and data protection very seriously and strictly adheres to guidelines published in the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 which is applicable from the 25th May 2018, together with any domestic laws subsequently enacted.

From your registration for your band for it to take part in the Contest or

We may collect the following information about you:

Contact Name, e-mail address, telephone number, and postal address

Why we need this information about you and how it will be used

We need this information in order to contact you about the running of the Denshaw Contest. The information will be used in order to notify you of any changes to our rules or procedures, to inform you of the outcome of each contest and to facilitate the payment of any prize money.

Sharing of Your Information

The information you provide to us will be treated by us as confidential. It will not be shared with any other contest or body.

Transfers outside the UK and Europe

Your information will only be stored within the UK and EEA

Security

When you give us information, we take steps to make sure that your personal information is kept secure and safe.

Electronic data is kept on a password protected hard drive.

Paper documents will be disposed of according to our retention policy.

How long will we keep your information?
We will review our data every year, and will only hold your personal data for as long as you are participating in the Contest, and for one year following this.

We will confirm contact details annually

Your Rights

You have the right at any time to:

  •   ask for a copy of the information about you held by The Denshaw Whit Friday Band Contest Committee in our records;
  •   require The Denshaw Whit Friday Band Contest Committee to correct any inaccuracies in your information;
  •   and make a request to The Denshaw Whit Friday Band Contest Committee to delete what personal data of yours we hold
